Here For a Caregiver?

Hello! You’ve come to the right place.

In 2010, I began caregiving for a family friend’s newborn while they did their housework. They provided me with an intentional learning environment where I could develop my skills. Over time, I became a consistent babysitter for them and have been along for the ride as two more children were added to their family. We’ve had 12 years filled with sleepovers, pizza parties, and occasional vacations.

My introduction to special needs care occurred when their first child was diagnosed with autism. This required me to adjust my caregiving approach to meet his unique needs while helping his siblings understand and navigate his emotions. I pride myself on my ability to remain calm in ambiguous situations and prioritize the children’s safety.

While earning my degree at Hamline University, I expanded my skillset to include education. I interned as a K-12 Educator with People Serving People, providing after-school programs to children experiencing homelessness with a focus on tutoring and creative outlets. Additionally, I worked as a Swim Instructor for Foss Swim School, where I created an exciting environment for groups of 2-6 year olds, helping them progress their skills while keeping their parents involved throughout the process.

After graduating in May 2020, I provided care for multiple families affected by the pandemic in Minnesota, ranging in age from 1 to 91 years old. Now, I am embarking on my career in the environmental field.
